Maybe you have heard of Howl-O-Scream the nighttime Halloween event hosted by SeaWorld filled with themed ghoulish delights, haunted walking trails, and thriller shows. Have you heard of the family fun Halloween Spooktacular at SeaWorld Orlando? It takes places on Friday, Saturday, and Sundays from September 17,2022 until October 31,2022? This event is geared for children and children at heart. There are special shows, activities, dance party and no Halloween event is complete without a trick or Treat Trail.
Let’s talk entertainment. There are three really cute shows that take place during Halloween Spooktacular. Over at Sesame Street there is a Sesame Street Halloween Parade that takes place two/three times during the day. This is the perfect time to see all your Sesame Street friends in their favorite Halloween costumes. I personally love seeing Ernie as a pirate and Chef Cookie Monster. When Big Bird is not busy being in the parade he can sometimes be found in his nest hosting story time with some classic Sesame Street Halloween stories.
Looking for some more Halloween stories? Maybe something a little fishier? Make your way to the Pumpkin Garden. Here you will hear a fishy tale of Penelope the Pumpkin fish and her monstrous journey. This is an interactive story time so be prepared to move around and help bring this story to life. After the story looking around the park you will be able to meet the Pumpkin Princess, Spider Princess and Ghost Princess from the story.
Throughout Halloween Spooktacular there are plenty of photo opportunities especially along the Spooktacular Trick or Treat Trail. There are themed holiday backgrounds as well as some fun characters to meet along the way such as a pirate, witches, and more. Have you ever wanted to meet a Mermaid? Here is your chance, step on up and sit on a special clam seat with one of the Mermaid Princesses. (There is a special $10 photo package available for Meet a Mermaid photos located across from the mermaid stage) How many characters can you find?
Did someone say scavenger hunt? I didn’t but I am now. I’m a sucker for a scavenger hunt, especially when it comes with a prize. This one also happens to be a super cute one. There are cutouts of some of your favorite SeaWorld animals wearing Halloween costumes such as Jack-o-lantern seal, candy corn penguin, and sea turtle witch. They are hidden throughout the Halloween Spooktacular area. Find them all and receive a prize. Which one will you pick? (Scavenger Hunt is $9.99 per map and can be purchased at Coconut Bay Traders)
With so much to do, you may be looking for a mid-day break, make your way over to the Crafts and Cookie Pavilion between Sesame Street and the Wild Artic for some free crafts. There is seating area set up for both big and small guests. Kids can pick out a Halloween Sesame Street themed coloring sheet and stickers to color either there or at home. Crafts are only available from 12:00pm until 4:00pm. Here you can find Cookie Decorating kits. Each kit contains two Halloween cookies, frosting, candies and a carton of milk inside of a Cookie Monster Foodie Truck lunchbox ($7.99 per kit).
At the end of the trick or treat trail ends (at Atlantis Plaza) with a scary good time at the Scarecrow Halloween Dance Party. The Turtle family dancers will teach you some new Halloween dance moves and you will get the chance to show off some of yours. Throughout the dance party the Turtle family will perform to some classic Halloween songs such as Thriller. Make sure you stop by to see the show.
With 12 trick or treat stops you are sure to get a lot of Halloween treats during this event. You can locate the trick or treat stand from the big candy corn umbrella. The trick or treating rules are easy, first you much have a reusable SeaWorld treat bag (which can be purchased from most shops, starting at $4.99). Second, hold your treat bag up to the candy shoot at the trick or treat stand. Three, repeat as many times as you want. There are some great treats this year from SeaWorld Partners (Chick-Fil-A of Greater Orlando, Haribo, and Smarties) such as Goldfish Crackers, Swedish Fish, Charm Pops, and many more. Along the way you will find some Halloween character meet and greets, fog bubbles and scavenger hunt spots. So much fun you will want to go around and around again.
Count von Count is hosting a special Halloween party and you are invited. Come join him and his Sesame Street friends for music, meet and greets and breakfast.
