Interesting Fishing Fact: From June – August 1956 in Disneyland, guests could fish from Huck Finn’s pier on Tom Sawyer’s Island. You would then bring the fish to Riverbelle Terrace to be cleaned and stored while you spent the day in the park! This was promptly ended when the latter part of the process didn’t “catch on” and it created a fishy situation. Fishing can now only be found at Walt Disney World in Florida.
Walt Disney World has partnered with B.A.S.S. (Bass Angler Sportsmen Society) to provide guided fishing excursions and dock-side fishing in the various waterways around the property. All fishing excursions are catch and release only.
Guided Fishing Excursions are offered 7 days a week and offered 4 times per day. Typically a fishing excursion lasts from 2 or 4 hours but an additional hour can be added at the dock prior to your excursion for an additional fee. Reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance and can accommodate 1-5 people. Your excursion includes an experienced guide, all necessary tackle, and gear, and a single 1-year subscription to B.A.S.S. which includes Bass Master Magazine. Life jackets are provided and are required for children ages 13 and younger.
